The argument trolls give's for Shetland not being part of Scotland, is as much valid for Scotland not being part of the UK.

Culturally very different.

Geographically there are two large Islands off the West coast of Europe Great Britain & Eire

Every other smaller Island will cling to one or the other for financial / defence purposes unless of course you have the means to go it alone

Of course if we were to divide Great Britain up into cultural enclaves, then Cornwall & Devon would cede to the six fingered tribe, Yorkshire would become Yorkistan (think they started agitating for that back in the late 80's) Wales is already there ... and we effectively revert to tribal rule

That needs to change. Poverty is the root of many of Scotland's problems.

What exactly is going to change if Scotland gets its independence? I am all for it because most of the Scots are approaching the whole thing from the position of being a victim. And I hate whingers. All the reasons for leaving appear to be a negative view of Westminster (even though the Scots hold the balance of power there and are disproportionally influential).

What is worrying is that there is no enterprise friendly party on the horizon so the economy will be a fight over whatever depleting wealth is left.

Seems to me the more the Tory's fu$£up the stronger yes & UKIP grow.

Only one side has produced effort in my opinion, in the white paper. The other side slogans.

DevoMax would have been the best offer to put to Scots. But that was blocked by Westminster, as they knew it would be popular, forcing the independence referendum. Regardless most most are now see independence as no worse than DevoMax, hence the increasing support.

We can change a lot to help poverty by having control of what the taxes of people in Scotland should not be spent on. War, foreign Aid, blotted public services to name a few and drive that cash into local communities instead.

It's utterly disgraceful reading the stories of families unable to provide the most basic necessities that most take for granted. And before you scream typical benefit scroungers, some of the worst affected by poverty in Scotland are indeed those already in employment. Don't get me started.

So they are poorly paid and yet even with working tax credit and minimum wage legislation are still poor. How on earth do you think changing the government will resolve that issue.

Change is not going to happen over night. The culture of non-jobs that has been created is dreadful.
