Truth? I gave up a long time ago believing anything close to the truth came out of Westminster.

Right now it's a case of accepting the least worst lies.

The better together camp have it easy. They have a majority that want to stay in the union. All they have to do is cede powers from Westminster to Edinburgh, including control of taxes etc.

The union remains intact, King Alec comes out like a champ and Darling Darling Darling, gets to say I kept the union together.
You seem to miss the fact that its possible the english don't want to give more power to Scotland. Personally I would prefer that they are treated in the same way as the English (£9k university fees....) or leave to see how they get on in the real world....

Just another random thought - don't you need to be British to be in the British special forces?

If Scottish members decide to be Scottish rather than British will they have to leave the unit? That seems like a rather a nasty loss of rare skills and experience.

It's not just Scotland that needs more powers. The whole of England needs them. Many moons ago even Birmingham had it's own exchange. When Britain was a manufacturing wonder there was more local control in each city. Over time that power went south. And since then that power has been abused. The UK needs to be decentralised for it's own good.

I did leave. I am working in the economic manufacturing powerhouse of Europe.

You forget my previous comment regarding Scottish independence:

I have to admit part of me would like to see Scotland vote for independence, and then the whole thing be a complete disaster. It would be quite satisfying to watch. The only problem is if it were to happen that way, it'd almost certainly be the UK providing most of the bailout.

Let's face it the only reason for all this hoo-ha is Alex Salmond's drive for power.
                That's it, really.

And the remarkable thing is how much brushes off him. You would have thought the lack of credible answers regarding currency, eu membership.... would be scaring people away yet it seems to be doing exactly the opposite....

He did behave like a petulant child whose toys had been withheld when informed that the £ or Euro membership was not automatic.
Not very statesmanlike at all, he behaved like the provincial he is.
