I once knew Ukrainian girl. Her name was Laika.

We met in Italy not long after the break up of the Soviet Union.

She was bemoaning the fact that her father who worked at the local mine hadn't been paid for months, they had no money and had to rely on handouts. Previously they had been fairly well off and didn't have too much to worry about in a materialistic sense even if their living standards were a little basic compared to the west.

So, I asked Laika if she'd like a return to the old days. Just the fact that I'd asked the question made her rather angry. Of course not! Rather be free and broke than return to the tyranny of the Soviet Union.

And that's where I come from. Freedom is everything.

Yep, just using the word 'white' doesn't make him 'racist', however that term is defined. It's a bit of an inconvenience for people adamant on pushing the 'racist' label that Eastern European and Mediterranean immigrants are Caucasian. .

Just because some people dislike the EU for discreditable, frivolous, or (as in that example) ridiculous reasons doesn't mean everyone anti-EU is so for those reasons

London's extraordinary economic success, for example, is due to its being a magnet for talented people from all over the world.
Remove that and London will become a provincial backwater and its competitors like New York and Frankfurt will clean up.

It's been a talent magnet for centuries, long before the EU was ever thought of even by Napoleon! What makes you think leaving the EU would, in your words, "remove that"? If anything, in attracting talent the UK could then be less hampered by EU regulations.
