That's a matter of taste, but it's practical and does everything he says he wants, and leaves him cash to spend on something a bit sillier.Originally posted by sasguru View PostThat is one fugly vehicle. Yes I saw it in the Design Museum as an example of good designOriginally posted by eek View Postdid you never see the Multipla in real life. I'm sure Fiat release some cars as a dare......

That was an ugly car too but there was method in its madness, inside it was great like a glasshouse, the all round view was superb.
Not true of the 500L which just looks like someone extended the 500, got bored and just drew a line down the back.Hard Brexit now!

Unfortunately they were unable to keep the retro theme going with the 500L and build a new 600 in the style of the 60s model; modern safety requirements make it almost impossible to make a flat fronted car that will comply. Same goes for the VW T2 that was made in Brazil up until this year; the safety regulations in Latin American countries are now coming up to European levels and so finally the model died. Perhaps a good thing on balance, after all we don't need our legs crushed if we bump into a bollard.Originally posted by sasguru View PostYes I saw it in the Design Museum as an example of good design

You've got the logic the wrong way round.
You buy a car that you're going to put loads of miles on and then worry about re-sale value?
Get a cheap fiesta, kia c'eed and stick 100k miles on it and then throw it away, then for the weekend car you've got the big SUV with the crap economy but your wife is only sticking school run miles on. That's the one you can re-sell later not the one that's being doing 30k a year.Comment

Shame about that. Judgement Day came and production had to be terminated. I wonder if it will be back.Originally posted by Mich the Tester View PostSame goes for the VW T2 that was made in Brazil up until this year; the safety regulations in Latin American countries are now coming up to European levels and so finally the model died.Comment
