It's a grey area and at least UKIP are opening up the debate, albeit it in possibly the wrong way. I am sure we can all think of situations where choice is stifled and although we may not agree with it people should be allowed to chose. I might not agree with exactly what the message is but if it's challenging the PC policies that we have no choice about I would take the choice option. Needs to be done properly though. If a golf club of paying members all vote to stay male only then let them, no one else's business but theirs, same with the B&B. Problem is that choice we all wish for is abused which is where the problems lie. How you address that god only knows. As ever devil is in the details and situation which is completely lost in these bun fights.

MTT should be free to say no to Donna Edmunds. But he probably won't.

Easy to say as long as you're not one of the minorities. Being forced to give up your seat on a bus to a white person, because that was the preference of the driver, would get a little annoying. As would booking a B&B, driving miles, and then being told to go somewhere else.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

You're trying to trick me into using my catchphrase here, but it won't work.
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

In London I am in a minority. White, middle class, middle aged, able bodied, hetrosexual English. I think its just me.

              I'm all for preventing discrimination.

However single sex businesses must be treated equally so if you have a female only swimming session you need to balance it with a male only session.

Men only clubs should be expected to allow ladies days and female only clubs men only days. Or you can allow them to coexist and stand on their own merits assuming they receive no government subsidy.

It's every man's right to be racist, homophobic, sexist, or to hold any other kind of prejudiced views they might have.
It's also every man's right to choose whether he wishes to associate with people who hold such views.

Anyone who supposes that business should be forced to treat all potential patrons equally is a sick puppy.

Indeed but this is one of the abuse situations that has to be avoided. This is outright discrimination and isn't acceptable.
With the B&B example they would be able to safely advertise their preference on the website if it was allowed so this wouldn't happen.

The fact people lump those two examples in which are clearly a world apart is the reason we will never make any headway in this discussion. Although there are a lot of grey areas around a topic like this there are also some very black and white examples..

No you're in a minority because you're care in the community. Looks like it works.

It's simple maths. If each of those subdivisions represented 88% of the population then assuming orthogonality you'd still be in a minority being in all 6 of them as 0.88 ^ 6 < 0.5
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'
