heh that is true. I've actually argued this with some Americans who claim to be libertarians. Self reliance? Standing on your own two feet- hell yeah! But what about those Mexican immigrants? hmmmm that's different.The government needs to build a big wall and keep em out!

Incorrect. Society in the middle ages was very strictly controlled by the Church and the Aristocracy. You did what your superior wanted. Everyone had a place and woe betide you if you tried to change that.

And you think it would be somehow different if we took that influence away from government and gave it to big business? At least the government is expected to be representative of a broad spectrum of views.

So what you are saying is that you are more libertarian than them? Not that I consider myself a libertarian anyway, but it looks like libertarianism is used at random to justify anything that goes beyond common sense. The Tea Party label themselves as libertarians, but I don't see any stance for freedom in their actions.

No, I think that's an unfair comparison. Obviously, some products are only relevant for a minority, but the company that makes sanitary towels is not actually refusing to sell them to men or non menstruating women AFAIK.
