Ukraine Unrest

Those are some pictures of the people hired to escalate violence in my region - and I would hardly call them 'police'. Again - Ukrainians do not deserve this, they suffered enough!Last edited by mos; 20 February 2014, 14:58.If UKIP are the answer, then it must have been a very stupid question. -
So you're convinced the entire thing is the work of foreign mercenaries ignoring the fact that there are 1000s of Ukranians on the ground protesting and using violence, despite the lack of any evidence whatsoever that this is the case?Originally posted by mos View PostFake till you make it. War mongering mercenaries go home! I do not consider BBC that 'reputable'.
Sure, the Russians have been tulip stirring and arguably provoked things by causing the president to go back on the deal with the EU in return for cheap gas and loans but the idea that the violence on that scale is simply the work of a few Kremlin or CIA plants and not genuine anger on the part of the people of Ukraine is if anything slightly insulting to them. I suppose the declarations from several regions that the government is no longer legitimate and the resignation of the administrative chief of Kiev from the ruling party are fake as well are they? While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. Yes that was my point.Originally posted by MicrosoftBob View PostIt's a bit easier to burn sheep when the police turn a blind eye, than stand upto your government whilst getting shot at by snipers and armed thugsOriginally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment

Do the same on the streets on London and you won't see anything different.Originally posted by mos View PostThose are some pictures of the police. Again - Ukrainians do not deserve this, they suffered enough!
That's not to say that I disagree with your sentiment.Comment

This heavily armed police (with assault and sniper rifles!) against these brave people -

See the difference? AK assault rifle can shoot through a brick easily - nevermind shields that demonstrants have.
It's not Syria or some arse backwater of the planet, this happens in EUROPE right now.Comment

This was DONE in London just a few years ago in riots - did you see UK police shooting rioters from sniper rifles????Originally posted by SpontaneousOrder View PostDo the same on the streets on London and you won't see anything different.

Stones on picture above is what protestors have - not really good against assault rifles is it?Comment

I agree that the police have been heavy handed but there were no snipers shooting at the crowds in November. That's happened since a dozen policemen were killed in a couple of days and is more a symptom that they have utterly lost control and are panicked than anything else.Originally posted by AtW View Post

That's real guns in hands of police - sniper rifles that should never be deployed against crowds.
The only thing people there have is courage and numbers on their side - and also that they are right, that takes real balls that not many people have.
As I say the protesters have my sympathy, I'm not convinced their government is legitimate and the crumbling to Russian influence is clearly unpopular, but to suggest the escalation in violence is wholly one sided is simply false as far as I can see.Last edited by doodab; 20 February 2014, 15:06.While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. Indeed, but there are unfortunately some Europeans who don't really consider Eastern Europe to be in Europe, and you're posting on CUK, where some Brits seem to object to the idea that they're Europeans too. In fact some even think there is no such thing as an overriding European culture. Don't waste your keyboard on them.Originally posted by AtW View PostIt's not Syria or some arse backwater of the planet, this happens in EUROPE right now.And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Do you remember Berezovsky? He admitted that it was his job to stir up unrest in Ukraine. Thanks God I am not there! But if someone started shooting to my people, I would strangled them with my bare hands. If UKIP are the answer, then it must have been a very stupid question.Comment
