Heavy handed would have been to beat up protestors and throw them in jails for a few years, that's already been done for a while and now it's a bit more than "heavy handed" - thankfully people there got balls of steel and this time I hope they'll bring people in the Govt to justice, which might not be the European kind but the one they deserve for sure. -
There are tens of thousands of UNARMED people there (including women) - are you saying they all kicked cops to require deployment of assault and sniper rifles? Over 100 people dead now, and it's not Baghdad.Originally posted by doodab View PostGo and chuck a rock at a copper and see if you get your head kicked in.Comment

Kindof. Put enough rounds into the same place and the wall will crumble. Before then there's not much chance of killing anyone stood more than a foot behind it.Originally posted by AtW View PostSee the difference? And both sides acting like that is how the violence escalates. No third parties required.Originally posted by mos View PostThanks God I am not there! Have you considered working for Tony Blair?Originally posted by doodab View PostAnd both sides acting like that is how the violence escalates. No third parties required. If UKIP are the answer, then it must have been a very stupid question.Comment

If the Ukrainian people really don't want to be governed the way they are then all they have to do is go home and stop paying their taxes. It'll all be over within a month.Comment

No, I'm saying that the police are arming themselves because they have lost control of the situation and fear for their safety, and on that basis I can understand why they are doing it. It might not be right or desirable but it's hardly a surprise given that among the tens of thousand of unarmed people there are clearly a hefty minority who are happy to fight with whatever they have including firearms.Originally posted by AtW View PostThere are tens of thousands of UNARMED people there (including women) - are you saying they all kicked cops to require deployment of assault and sniper rifles? What would be better is if the police took a moral stand and simply refused to oppress the people but for some reason that seems to be unlikely to happen. While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'Comment
