Number of Romanian and Bulgarian migrant workers reaches record high - Telegraph
The number of Romanian and Bulgarian migrant workers in Britain reached a record high at the end of 2013, official figures have disclosed.
There were 144,000 workers living in Britain who were born in the two eastern European countries according to figures for the final quarter of 2013.
It represented a 42 per cent increase on the 102,000 who were here in the same period the previous year, and a 62 per cent rise on the final quarter of 2011.
The jump at the end of last year came even before nationals from the two former Communist states gained full access to Britain’s job market on January 1.
