So she's due in court soon charged with..... what?
we won't know until its read out in court. That may also just be a holding charge with the eventual charges only provided when the court case actually opens.
Someone spent hours trying to explain this elsewhere yesterday. Scottish law is very different to English law...

Under Scottish law you can be detained (but not arrested) for up to 12 hours (24 if authorised by a Chief Constable in exceptional circumstances) before either being released, or formally arrested and charged with an offence. It's used where there isn't sufficient evidence to warrant immediate arrest but where Police feel they need to formally question someone in connection with a specific crime. If detained you are entitled to have a Lawyer present or available by phone, be told what the matter under investigation is and do not have to answer questions. Police are also only allowed to question you on the matter for which they have detained you, they can't use it to go fishing for other offences. You are however under caution, so the usual rules of not saying anything you relay on later still apply.
She was detained originally and has now been formally arrested and charged with an offence. That offence will be given in public when she makes her court appearance. My guess is it will be murder.
