Big global warming meeting in Canada

Climate science is incredibly fun at the moment because since the climate cycle switched we can now see the "chickens come home to roost".

It wouldn't be half as much fun if there wasn't the odd fervent supporter of AGW on the forum who's face was increasingly getting covered in egg.

In the end all we have to do is sit back and watch mother nature's climate cycle take it's course. Was anyone predicting a record hot year in 2013?

      since the climate cycle switched
And when did that happen exactly?

You've variously stated that global temperatures have been flat for 20 years, for 17 years, 12 years and you cited the GISS data as supporting the claim when it did not.

Some might think that such a loose grip on the facts is evidence of a moderately eggy visage, I couldn't possibly comment.

Meanwhile November 2013 was the warmest November on record and the US NOAA has 2010 and 2005 tied as warmest years, and the oceans continue to accumulate heat ...

I never said 12 years, you've made that up

It was 17 years but we're now in 2014 so it's now 18 years and what I actually said is nearly 20 years.

As I say there is desperation especially when you resort to those sorts of arguments.

But bring it on....it just confirms what I was saying

if you want to now waste half an hour looking through my posts so that you can revel in a typo or something I didn't write "scientifically" so you can revel in some rather trivial victory on points scoring be my guest, but in the end it won't make the planet any warmer.

No, it was 20 years ...

Temperatures haven't risen for 20 years, there are statistically no change in extreme weather events, there is an impercitible rise in sea levels,
          http://forums.contractoruk.com/gener...ml#post1859237

Just to recap....the temperature trend has been flat for 17 years and continues to be flat. This is confirned by the GISS temps.
It is not so confirmed - I cannot be bothered to search for it but at some point you linked to this WUWT post which stated the 'pause' in the GISS data you apparently approve of was actually 12 not 17 years, oh eggy one.

          12 <> 20

Well done pj you spotted my mistake, I should have said nearly twenty years.

            You win that point.

            congratulations

Thanks. Admitting your errors is admirable behaviour and enhances your reputation for reliability.

Now exactly which global temperature dataset shows no warming for 18 years? I'l give you a clue, it ain't NASA

what are we debating here, global temps or the anomaly near a russian heating pipe

Nice try pj but when all the global temps show flat for 17 years and you need a monthy data point to make a point, it's a bit weak.

                But keep it coming...

Cold mid winter weather in Canada and North America, big shocker that!!!!
In which case, saying "look how cold it is, this Global Warming is a load of tulip" is silly.

slightly on-topic, but referring back to the OP

Will the eco-buffoon make it to the meeting in Canada ?

The tourists were evacuated to an australian icebreaker which is now on its way to resupply a base (Casey) after which it will head for Hobart.
The tourists have been whining on Facebook and in the blogs about the five day detour.

Their original Russian ship is now free from the ice and will get to Hobart before them.

shouldnt laugh, but its getting hard not to

You're not going to answer the question, are you?
