            Telegraph today;

            Autumn Statement 2013: Middle-classes threatened by tax squeeze - Telegraph

            There have also been suggestions that thousands of UK professionals, including lawyers, surveyors and estate agents, face a tax hit over a plan to clamp down on National Insurance exemptions for partnerships.

            Treasury officials are said to believe that some firms are "disguising" employees as partners to avoid employer's National Insurance contributions.

                Some people, maybe. I've done that in the past.

                  When IR35 came out, my then accountant advised that one method would be to become self-employed and then get paid via a lump sum from my limited company. I did not go down that route and instead I opened a retail PC shop and used the same limited company.

                  Being self employed has a much lower NI rate.

                    Who here cares about lawyers and estate agents? Lawyers charge minimum £300 per HOUR, Estate Agents 1% on inflated house prices - let them pay some more tax and keep the Porche money inside this country!
