Does anyone worry about using specialist "Contractor" accountants. If i worked for HMRC and wanted to get a list of people who had set themselves up in this way, i would look at the list of LtdCo's that had filed their accounts through one of these accountants.

Or it could be a boring day, and the Sun got it wrong. Stranger things have happened.Originally posted by GazCol View PostIs it the end of the party?
Lawspeed issued a communication today:
Sky News and the Sun newspaper have both indicated that the Government is due to make an announcement in relation to curbing the use of self-employment as a means of avoiding national insurance, with plans expected to be outlined by the Chancellor this Thursday. The Treasury has declined to answer our own enquiries on this.

Are we sure this isn't actually related to the expected changes to the way that the self-employed pay their class 2 NI contributions (e.g. instead of weekly/monthly by DD, they are paid through self-assessment)? Not sure this really has anything to do with one-man Ltd companies.Comment

Given the telling off that Osborne got last time for the number of leaks of what was going to be said, I'd be surprised if they knew too much this far in advance.Originally posted by TheCyclingProgrammer View PostAre we sure this isn't actually related to the expected changes to the way that the self-employed pay their class 2 NI contributions (e.g. instead of weekly/monthly by DD, they are paid through self-assessment)?
