My permie job was outsourced to India years ago. In fact I lived out there for a while training my replacements. They were all very capable, unfortunately their local management wanted a battery farm with autonomic reponses, not people who would be allowed to think for themselves.
It was the best thing that ever happened to me, as I started to gain the skills and experience I use now.

As an individual you may have done well. As a country the mass use of Indian labour in IT is causing us allsorts of problems.

I have never lost my job but I do remember a PL taking me aside to discuss my contract extension was not being granted as they were instructed to take on more outsourcers from L&T, (feck me there office in Chennai was a corner tuck shop) on the basis that they were 'cheaper'......gotta laugh.

It's pretty obvious you've had a bad experience with some outsourcing co. that's left you bitter and twisted. Probably they just figured out you were incompetent.
But guess what - this model is here to stay, if its not India, it will be somewhere else, so best to retrain and get up the value chain. If you can.
