I told them frankly that I am in a contract that is currently in limbo and that I will get back to them as soon as I know (before Friday). I have told the consulting / resourcing company that I have been asked to attend another interview and that I need to know where I stand. It may be a bad move on my part, but as it stands, I need to force the issue and either get them to release me from the contract, or get me on site.
If you have an interview and it turns into a gig, don't ask the first lot to cancel the contract, tell them that the indefinite delay to the start date is a breach of the contract and you're terminating it. It shouldn't be a one-sided relationship where they hold all the power.Comment

well done - hope they get you started soon, I am sure it will work out if they want you.

At the last contract everyone was dressed so scruffy that I had to stop wearing a tie when the guy who hired me actually started to smarten himself up. The type of office where only the most senior managers normally wear a suit.Comment
