The bit you are missing, and I don't think I posted, is where we had the initial discussion about the project and the history of the project. It was described to me as "in a bit of a pickle".
I was not being arrogant. I am doing a good job, and a successful and on time delivery will do me no end of good, both in the eyes of the client and for my own sense of job satisfaction.
I am, by Clipheads own admission, a nice guy. I like to think so. I try to be. My wife and kids think so. My friends think so. So I'm all good with that.
I told them what I was planning to do. By virtue of the fact that the project was in a bit of a pickle, and by virtue of the the fact that I come across professionally very well, they took a gamble.
If you think of it in the context as I see it, they are busy making money. They don't want the hassle, so if a guy comes in, seems confident and is nice enough, has a good track record and knows what he's doing then why not just give him some rope and see what he does with it. After all the go-no-go is with them, and if it doesn't work out they only lose a weeks fees which they can comfortably afford.
Perhaps those of you that don't get it, have always worked like cowboys and have never done a professional day's work in your lives and are poking fun at someone who can walk the walk.
Let's see.
