Had some feedback from ClientCo. They were a bit quiet yesterday when I passed across the change requests. These have now been approved, and comments passed on the high quality. I have written test plans today and I'm all ready to begin the build.

I was thanked for my hard work and told to keep doing it this way as they recognise this is a significant improvement on the way things had been done in the past.

You strike me as very unconfident, 3 days into a gig you are needing positive feedback.

They have probably flagged this amongst themselves and how it can be rectified.

Whatever you think. I've never been short on confidence. Short on the ability to cope with prolonged periods of stress, but I have been working on that. This has been a very difficult year for me, and if I hadn't had my stress related illness last year and built myself back up stronger and better there is absolutely no way I could have coped with uprooting to Germany, dealing with high debt levels (now all paid) and the stress of being bullied at work.

I wouldn't say I am complacent now about stress, but I have learned not to give a ****, and that includes your banal 20p throwaway childish post.

Never suffered from stress and not sure how it manifests. Maybe it's a personality thing.

You become emotionally invested in your roles and that is not healthy, I can see you are doing it again needing to be praised as soon as you are in the door working on your first task.

If you think that what I am saying is trolling then it shows your complete arrogance, you have serious issues in the workplace and you ignore anything anyone says that could be considered advice.

This gig will be no different to the previous fails, you just don't have a stable emotional platform to do this type of work.

I've done many gigs where the pressure could be intense and watched other people permies and contractors losing the plot, lots of gigs where it was a pleasure to be there and I added value beyond what I was getting paid to do (and I bring that to most gigs anyway).

Never quite understood the stress thing and maybe I'm lucky that I've never suffered from it.

Bottom line - I believe contracting requires a particular mindset and not everybody is cut out to do that on an extended basis.

I think everyone suffers from stress. It's just for some they find it debilitating. When I get stressed I have a few beers, do some weights, punch a bag or go and pick on some little fella in a pub.

It's when all life's crap hits at once that stress becomes debilitating. Most people in good health getting enough sleep will cope OK with one stressful situation.

Strikes me that turning up on day one and immediately tossing around change requests and so on before you have the slightest clue how either the technical, business or personal aspects of the project work is silly. At best you'll seem like an overenthusiastic puppy, the noob desperate to prove himself.
