However, this was a solid guy, I would say thoroughly decent except for him shagging Edwina Currie, but he was completely 'un-mediafriendly', didn't bother arseing around with 'spin', and led one of the few governments that damned nearly balanced the books. He was also a proper conservative; moderate, considered, gentlemanlike, tactful, diplomatic and tough when needed.

I will quite happily declare in public that I'm a John Major fan and I think the people who did the dirty on him were a disgrace to their party and shafted the British public by willingly allowing Labour to win an election just to shove a knife in his back. Bastards.
He also left the economy in a very good state only for labour to pillage and destroy.

I think you might be right. Although he did go up in a lot of people's estimation with the Currie revelations - not quite the dull, grey man he was assumed to be.

Bloomin Hessie! he was just jealous. Met him in a hallway once he tried to tell me to do my tie up.

Quite right too; sartorial standards are there to be maintained. Oik!

That was pretty much what his face said.

I was on my third 16 hour day cleaning up after idiots in his Department

Oik isn't a word in the TWL scrabble dictionary. Really annoyed me, that did. SOWPODS has it though.

Wow, I'm impressed you were wearing a tie at all, even loosely.

I haven't seen a toilet cleaner wearing a shirt and tie in even the most expensive of places.
