Children die all the time. Many die in swimming pools (probably more than are abducted), some die from house fires as a result of carelessness of the family or a fault with the wiring, some are suffocated by the cat lying on their face whilst the mum is doing something in the kitchen (as long as she is not enjoying herself eh?) ,and some even die in their sleep from cot death. Each and every one of these could be prevented had the parents either not taken their eyes off the child, checked the wiring in their house every year or shot every cat in the neighbourhood. Sh*t happens and none of us can say that we have never exposed our children to risks. In the Mcanns case they were simply unlucky. To blame them or apportion responsibility on them is cruel nasty and downright hypocritical.

Terrible as that tale is, it hardly excuses misuse of the apostrophe.
I'll beat myself up about that for the rest of the day.

As we discussed earlier in the thread - there are always risks. With children and everything else no one is saying otherwise. However, I think it was irresponsible for them to leave children that age alone like that and go to dinner with friends, it is irrespective of the kidnapping*.

You actually agreed earlier with my electric fire analogy.

So people are only responsible for their actions but not for the consequences of those actions?
