I have been a staunch opponent of him since the very start - all the support in the world won't make any difference to the reality that he isn't cut out for it. Moyes will remain Fergie's last mistake unfortunately.Originally posted by AtW View PostJust give Moyes time and you'd be happy with 17th...Comment

I remember 1997 I think it was, Bolton back in the Prem, new stadium, I was working in Scotland at the time, third home game I think, Man U at home, Beckham et al...Originally posted by AtW View PostFergie is not just a proven trophy winner - he is a living legend.
Drove down like the clappers, got there well early, so took a wander around the new ground, season ticket holder, been to all games but never had a good look.
Got to front gate just as Man U team bus arrived, players walked in to torrents of abuse, as did Fergie, who did actually sign autographs for people. As he came round to my area, this Wanderers fan hurled a torrent of abuse at him, literally 18" from his admittedly very red nose "Feck off you fecking red-nosed Jock pisshead Twat" said Wanderers fan eulogised, I really did think Fergie would snap and justifiably deck my allegiate, but no, much respect, Fergie never batted a whisky-worn eyelid and took it full on.
Game was 0-0, should have been 1-0 Scott Sellars was NOT offside....
But Fergie was a perfect gentleman there, never forgot it.Comment

Throwing Moyes out this early in his tenure would be a knee-jerk reaction.
I am not saying he will turn out to be the right man for the job, but he needs to be given a bit longer than he has been.
Man Utd did not so much win the league last season as everyone else lost it. Fergie knew that the time was right to leave, and he is also of the opinion that Moyes should be given time.
Hopefully the board will not listen too strongly to the panicky hysterical catcalls of the "Oh My God, we haven't won a trophy for 6 months....let's sack everyone!" section of the support.
Turfing him out at this point will be the first step towards making Man Utd the next Chelsea, where managers get changed every time the Owner washes his car!!“The period of the disintegration of the European Union has begun. And the first vessel to have departed is Britain”Comment

I would agree if it was not wrong at so many levels..... Moyes is not a proven manager - in fact he is proven at mediocrity and he has just continued that into Man United. He has turned United into Everton and will continue to keep them at that level. Fighting for Europa league places it will be so long as he is in charge.Originally posted by shaunbhoy View PostThrowing Moyes out this early in his tenure would be a knee-jerk reaction.

I assumed it was Moyles from the results.Originally posted by TestMangler View PostGood job he stuck to radio presenting then and didn't try football management.
Moyes, on the other hand, had no trophy winning track record.

But thing is it is the first time we have seen 4 strong teams not including Utd - normally it is UTD and 3 others.Originally posted by NorthWestPerm2Contr View PostI would agree if it was not wrong at so many levels..... and thus we should be fighting for fourth with Lpool, Tottenham and Everton
as it is the scousers have actually got a good team this year.

Don't agree again either! If United squeaked it then you could argue that the other teams lost it, but they won it by a mile. To win by their point margin and then drop to 7th suggests something serious has gone wrong. Players simply are not playing for Moyes and he seems lost as to how to turn things around. 2 panic buys later and 70m later and things are still crap.Originally posted by shaunbhoy View PostMan Utd did not so much win the league last season as everyone else lost it. I can take not winning things - until they won the league under fergie I'd only ever seen us win the odd cup. It didn't stop me supporting them, but what I would expect is for the players to actually play. RVP didn't look the remotest bit interested. Felani is not up to the job. The assessment by most at the end of last year was United needed to replace Evra, Ferdinand and find at least one other to play alonside Carrick. Now, other than the de Gea and Rooney I'd say that they could all be shipped out.Originally posted by shaunbhoy View PostHopefully the board will not listen too strongly to the panicky hysterical catcalls of the "Oh My God, we haven't won a trophy for 6 months....let's sack everyone!" section of the support.
