Moyles has no track record of managing big clubs or highly paid ego's, I think the board thought he Glaswegian therefore he will be as good as Fergie. They would have been better off with Gaza in charge.

      David Moyes sacked

My brother will be on the pitch at Old Twatford on Weds night, before kick-off no idea what for, he won't let on. Perhaps his success in managing Moss Bank under-13's has got him Moyes' job?

Our Dad (RIP Dad) will be spinning like a top in his grave, he was at Wembley in '58 and refused to go to Old T for any game even if Wanderers where playing although I'm sure he was stood next to me in the scoreboard end in 1980 when Frankie Worthy won it for us in the last minute, great days!

The difference is Moyes had a team that walked the prem last year. Yes other teams have improved, but he's managed to work his way through a ton of cash without producing anything. That said, even without the new faces we should not be losing to the teams we are doing. Its not nice to lose to those at the top, but when you are struggling against mid table teams then there is obviously something wrong. 5 defeats in the league at Old Trafford is a joke.

My problem with Moyes is that he seems unable to grasp the situation. We went in at half time 1 down and lucky to still have 11 vs 11. Then straight away Jones gives away an penalty - Moyes then waits until the 75th minute to change things, and when he does its to introduce Cleverley for Felani....a like for like tulip for tulip replacement if ever there was one.

Then look at how he has spent money. In summer they started out by making a comedy bid for Fabragas (26m) and eventually ended up with paying 1m more for Felani! They also paid 4m more than they needed because they let his release clause lapse. Surely as the ex everton manager Moyes would have some clue about the ins and outs of his contract! Then he buys Mata. We have had a problem for a long time as to how to accomodate RVP, Rooney and Kagawa. Now its how do you accomodate RVP, Rooney, Kagawa and Mata. We had one of the brightest young talents on our books in Zaha that never got a chance. Yet he plays Young with alarming regularity. He gave nani a nice new 5 year deal and he's hardly been near the squad all season. Our defence needs major work, what happens, Vidic gets a free to Milan, the one central defender that we could have got another season or 2 out of.

But....and its a big one, I think his biggest mistake was replacing all the backroom staff with his everton cronies, phil Nevile and Ryan Giggs.

I thought Moyes was a good choice for the job, but his performance in it shows that the job is way bigger than him. That said, I would have preferred the special one any day to Gollom! At least he can motivate players and could attract big names to the club.
+1 Exactly right. Fergie inherited a team that had never won the league and he was a proven trophy winner.
I am just struggling to see one positive that Moyes has achieved @ MU apart from Rooneys new contract. Every player seems to have had their motivation and confidence smashed. Trying to win the game and changing Fellani for Cleverley

Fergie is not just a proven trophy winner - he is a living legend.

            ^^ This.

Ferguson had 'done the impossible' at three clubs in Scotland prior to going anywhere near Man U.

His achievements with Aberdeen (breaking Old Firm domination in Scotland and winning a European Trophy) were what brought him to the attention of English football in the first place.

A unique viewpoint. Not many people knew Ryan Giggs was at Everton.

Good job he stuck to radio presenting then and didn't try football management.

Moyes, on the other hand, had no trophy winning track record.

To be fair could Moyles do any worse ?
Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.

He did the impossible last season, winning the league with all those fading players.

Aren't Man Utd fans being unrealistic, to expect a seamless transition from a unique manager to continued success under someone else?

unrealistic to expect a drop from 1st to 4th? We would have accepted that! What we can't accept is 1st to 7th!
