There's very little difference between a pimp and an agent, and they don't exactly add value along the chainOriginally posted by d000hg View PostA service is still something.Doing the needful since 1827Comment

Indeed. Like the bird that perches on the rhinoceros, it's a service. This is the relationship between client and contractor.Originally posted by d000hg View PostA service is still something.
The parasite the bird is after however, " an organism which lives in or on another organism (its host) and benefits by deriving nutrients at the other's expense.". The difference is in the goods an agent sells compared to a pimp. No sensible individual would want to shag what we agents have to offerOriginally posted by amcdonald View PostThere's very little difference between a pimp and an agent, and they don't exactly add value along the chain

The thing is I've met a ton of people in jobs they cannot do. Utterly feckless. And guess what supplied by agents!Originally posted by DodgyAgent View PostI just wish I could be in the frontline like you lot putting people out of jobs
It is little wonder that Germans who work less hours than the Brit's, are the world's 3rd largest exporter. The number of times a client has contacted me directly out here, it just never happened at home.

CoughOriginally posted by DimPrawn View PostTalking to a neighbour who is a gas safe heating engineer and plumber (he's also a fully qualified sparky) and he's hardly at work. Turns out after fixing a boiler he offers a pay monthly service like British Gas to cover call outs and repairs. He's got loads of local BTL landlords subscribing and this income means apart from the odd failure and once a year servicing he doesn't need to work.
Anyone thinking of leaving IT might consider this option.
You need to find something you can offer automatically which people are willing to pay money for. Then spend time either supporting / improving the service or creating another one.Originally posted by eek View Postalthough personally I prefer the exports that don't require any work being done and just require checking the bank balance once in a whileLast edited by eek; 2 September 2013, 12:34.merely at clientco for the entertainmentComment

The Germans may be efficient at manufacturing but their service sector efficiency (which is still the majority of their economy) is way behind the UK's, especially London's.Originally posted by scooterscot View PostIt is little wonder that Germans who work less hours than the Brit's, are the world's 3rd largest exporter.
