I think that anyone who believes it is certain that God does not exist must be a total cretin.

If people don't choose to believe in God then I will entirely support them in that.

Some scientists believe that our universe is just one of an infinite number of universes. And they might be right. But it can't be proven.

What about people who believe with certainty that Santa Clause does no exist or the Tooth Fairy or Zeus? Are they cretins as well? There is similar amounts of evidence for each including God (which god are you talking about BTW).

As illogical as the faithful anyway, given that we cannot either prove or disprove the existence of a creator. People like Dawkins appear to have an almost religious faith in the non existence of god. Practically irrelevant anyway, it isn't people believing in god that is a problem, it is all those who think that they are entitled to impose their beliefs on others.

Disagreeing with the nonsense of existing religions is an entirely different matter from being atheist, too much in those that can be subject to logical scrutiny and the flaws are legion. Just the existence of so many different faiths and versions of each faith is an argument against them in itself, why is your faith the only true one when so many others, just and intelligent and educated as you, have a different view?

Firstly there are the beginnings of proof for multi-universes, particularly regarding the uneven acceleration of matter at the edge of our Universe.

Let’s presume there is God, then other Universes could be run by other gods.
God is all knowing, all powerful and has the highest intelligence. The question arises why would such a god want human beings to spend their time praising him for his achievements which is a characteristic of a warped human rather than a higher intelligence.

I have seen the beginnings of proof for alot of stuf in my time - then seen so called "experts" change their mind a year later.

Another of my favourites is the we are not real - we are just projections from the edge of the universe like a hologram. Apparently matter cannot be created or destroyed - but it seems to disappear in a black hole.

Scientists remind me of the church a few hundered years ago - coming up with increasingly complex clever theories to justify their existence. Charlatans the lot of them - lets put them down a coal mine doing something useful.

                  And heres another one!

Astronomic news: the universe may not be expanding after all - Telegraph

Just give us another few billion so we can do more research. What a load of nonsense. So the more intelligent fall for this rubbish.

The hologram bit was a misunderstanding by the media, it was loosely based on partial physics not astrophysics. “created or destroyed”, that is only basically true as mass is increased towards the speed of light, but there again, it does use up energy. Black holes have their limitation because eventually they will emit radiation and even matter. The way black holes work also go along with the multi-universe theory. Our Universe could have been born from a massive universe working on similar principals of a black hole.

The trouble is the title of scientist is given to anyone these days whom have a science degree. Kids just out of uni are given the task of proving global warming and their results are published other kids just out of media studies uni. Totally thick the lot of them

BTW, as a non believer. What will happen to me when I die?

Depends whether God exists, and the nature of the said God. If Christianity* is true, you go to hell. If JW's are right, you get annihilated. If Terry Pratchett is right you just cease to be (you don't believe in an afterlife, so you don't get one). If the FSM crew are right, you get reincarnated as parmesan cheese.

                      * Some versions hold to a universalist theology - everyone goes to heaven. So you'll spend the first few thousand years feeling a bit stupid.
