What happens to those who had faith, who accepted Jesus as their saviour and meant it, but then lost their faith?

Do they get a place in heaven?

What Old Greg Said. (I was going to post ****, but thought it might cause offence). However, there's a strong thread in evangelical Christianity that says otherwise, and get quite emotional if you suggest they're wrong.
