It's not the absolute population, but you need a balance of workers to support the elderly.
Germany's working population is forecast to have a particularly steep decline.
This may make them an irrelevance because any value produced will be required internally.
    Hard Brexit now!

Humans are like a plague across the planet.

Present projections have us at 9.6B in 2050 and 10.9B in 2100.

Resources and space will become less. In developing countries birth rates should decrease but in Western countries birth rates are below the rate required to replace agin adults. The average age is increasing which places more burdens on the young and on pensions / resources. Humans will find better ways to grow food / clean water but we need to move to more sustainable energy production.

Of course all this increase is bound to lead to tension and we're well overdue for a pandemic or global war.

I think that would be the more accurate general consensus around here.

I've got news for you. A consensus doesn't consist of you and your small dick.

Growth of 1.3bn over 50 years does seem to agree with what SAS was saying

UK population growth highest in EU, ONS says

Although their maths appears to be incorrect

not sure where you get 1.3 bn from? Unless that's the UN's lowest projection.

to me that looks like a straight line from 1950 when we stopped killing people and started feeding people. Possibly developed countries might slow down. I could just about understand the orange line if we enforce birth limits worldwide. But unless something major happens I suspect Asia & Africa plus their exports to keep on growing see below:

By dramatic I mean a Global plague or world war. I doubt contraception advice or improved conditions are going to be a big enough effect.

And that is why you're a poorly paid BA. You don't understand many things and can't do joined up thinking.
The reason why the world population is stabilising is because childhood mortality has declined hugely all over the world. People used to have loads of kids because some would inevitably die. Now they don't - it's one of the biggest changes in the last 50 years.
