As far as council funding goes, I think they have a duty to ensure that their facilities appeal to as many people as possible - if having ladies sessions gets more people through the door they're doing their job.

You're probably right - overall does this get more people going or not... does the odd hour you can't use the gym actually stop men going or do they just go another time? I'd wager the net effect is positive.

I had a discussion with my sister about Wimbledon paying women the same as men, despite working less. I don't agree with it. To be frank, the mens final generates the most income as well, so on all grounds, it shouldn't have equal pay.

Easy way to fix this would be to abolish gender separate competitions. Have one big prize and let women compete with the men if they want to win it.

MrsBP says women should be paid less until they play 5 sets. I think it should be able the commercial impact the players make. So the women's prize goes to the girl with the biggest breasts(to quote monty python).

Its really hard to stand and preach about lecherous male behaviour when so many of your own sex will be staggering around Bath with skirts shorter than a credit card and a pair of handcuffs in one hand and a suck-me-silly candy dildo in the other.

The behaviour is less than impressive even if light hearted and smacks of a sex that really needs to go and have a chat with itself about where it has left its decorum before it starts moaning about men objectifying them for sex...
