Yep. When companies seek testers for SAP projects they explicitly ask for 'SAP Testers', which seems to be some strange pseudo-group within testing. The reasoning they give is that it's unnecessary to test the standard SAP stuff and you just test the processes and the tailored bits. I think this involves some rather dangerous assumptions

'SAP Testers' test that a business process is configured and programmed according to the blueprint which means that you need to understand standard SAP and business processes. The standard stuff won't work without master data and configuration
There is also a fair amount of non SAP testing like stress tests which test how many users can logon without crashing the system or testing data migration uploads and interfaces
