Yep. When companies seek testers for SAP projects they explicitly ask for 'SAP Testers', which seems to be some strange pseudo-group within testing. The reasoning they give is that it's unnecessary to test the standard SAP stuff and you just test the processes and the tailored bits. I think this involves some rather dangerous assumptionsOriginally posted by eek View PostIts SAP I think its par for the course. And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Anyway, you don't need to test SAP standard code, because SAP have a huge testing department. It's called "the customers".Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!Comment

at the same time.
I struggle to argue with people when the say you don't have to test SAP standard code because it really makes me feel like pissing myself laughing at their stupidity. And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014Comment

SAP Testing
'SAP Testers' test that a business process is configured and programmed according to the blueprint which means that you need to understand standard SAP and business processes. The standard stuff won't work without master data and configurationOriginally posted by Mich the Tester View PostYep. There is also a fair amount of non SAP testing like stress tests which test how many users can logon without crashing the system or testing data migration uploads and interfacesComment
