Bored with this whole gay marriage thing.
Are my natural party, the Tories, really so stupid as a whole that they'll break up the party for this "principle" that marriage should be between men and women only?

I'm not sure that's entirely true. I bet there are plently of religious people out there who don't have an issue with it & I'm sure plenty of priests/vicars etc who also wouldn't have an issue with performing same sex marriage.

To tar the entire religious or faith community with the same brush is a bit short sighted.

Depends on the religion, anyone who follows Christianity for example sees homosexuality as a sin. Unless they pick and choose what parts of the bible they believe, in which case they can't really call themselves Christians.

Yes. The loons have had it in for Cameron from the moment he won the leadership and they'll stick the knife in when they get the chance whether it's over gay marriage or Europe, thereby condemning Britain to another Labour government. Just same as they did to John Major, who IMO was the most underrated PM Britain's ever had.

I'm Catholic and have a lot of faith - that doesn't mean I blindly agree with everything the Catholic Church tells me.

I expect there are a lot of people like me.

It's time that the party focussed on traditional Conservative MP marriage - pretend to be straight for the cameras, whilst having a number of gay flings.

It's not even slightly true. We've realised that men & women of different cultures are just men & women, which is entirely different than changing the entire basis of marriage.

More to the point is that proggy is making absurd claims about what Christianity teaches, which are entirely bogus. I do like it when people who have flicked through a bible once claim to be an authority on the subject more than a believer who has spent years/decades listening to sermons, reading the bible, etc.

Question (for someone like Gibbon)... it's been mentioned several times that marriage has evolved over the centuries/millennia but are there any recorded histories of cultures where marriage of same-sex people did occur?
