What estate car?

My wifes little Mazda 5 has 7 seats.

Crash survivability maybe but you could argue that you're more likely to crash a top heavy vehicle that takes longer to stop, as for winter driving the stopping is just as important as the going! Towing yes, it definitely pays to have bulk.

Each to their own I guess as everyone has different requirements, quick roomy and thrifty are mine so a 4x4 doesn't suit me but a 530d estate would.

When B0redom Jnr #1 was born (2006), I bought a 2 year old Diesel Passat Estate Highline for £10k. Mundane and boring, but rock solid. I've had the engine remapped and it puts out about 180bhp so at least it has a bit of poke.

What you have to remember is that at some point it will get covered in chocolate, sticky sweets, vom, juice etc etc.

I'm looking at replacing it now B0redom Jnr #3 has arrived - there's no space for a 3rd car seat, but finding there isn't a great deal out there with leather seats etc unless you want to spend megabucks on a Disco or similar which I don't want to do due to the aforementioned trashing from 3 kids and a dog.

You could buy it, return it to factory spec and it might fetch 10 grand more.

I am in the same boat, MiniMac 1 & 2 are both in booster seats, I am ideally looking for a double booster seat or will take a hacksaw to the arms of the existing ones so they can all still fit in the back of a normal car.

Certainly less dreadful than some of your other offerings. Keep it up and you might learn the meaning of subtlety. After that we can start teaching you 'taste', which might be somewhat more challenging.
