    He doesn't need to. All he needed to do was repeat everything he said last year - sadly everything he said last year still applies this year.

      Beeb;

      Plaid Cymru's Treasury spokesman Jonathan Edwards tells BBC News the party is "extremely disappointed" with the Budget. He says the capital spending announced is only a fraction of what is needed.
      I am disappointed too; it should have been a smaller fraction.
      And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

          Bottom line is the economy is in the dump, triple dip but no triple A, no growth, 3 years of cuts. Praising Osborne is like praising a surgeon who, after killing a patient by accidentally removing his brain, manages to fill in his paperwork early. Also 3 year in government now, the blaming last Labour goverment excuse is no longer valid. Must be the worst performing chancellor of all time.

            That list also includes Gordon Brown so its an impossible task.

              They had 13 years of f**king it up, what makes you think it can be fixed much faster?

                  So what's the alternative? The other lot want to run up bigger and bigger debts so they can buy votes and keep the public sector unions happy. Is that better?

                  It's very easy to say the economy is flipped, therefore the chancellor is useless. But with the banking crisis, and all the Euro problems, the economy was always going to be flipped no matter who was chancellor. He could be the best performing chancellor of all time: no growth is still better than a recession.

                    I find the the house of commons an embarassing. They act like a bunch of naughty schoolboys, the parties are more interested in getting one over each other rather than all pitching in to get this country out the tulip.

                      I look at the economy in the same way I look at a person's health in relation weight, see you can eat what you want and as they overindulge they'll pack on the pounds. The moment they think oh wait a minute I need to get back to a healthy weight you can guarantee it'll take a lot longer than it took them to put it on.
