Listening to Ed Slimeyband, the Coalition must feel pretty confident of being re-elected. Don't think he has said a single thing of use yet.Comment

"Single Tier Pension". Instead of Basic State Pension of (I think) £107 pw + Pension Credit if needed, to bring income up to £150 or so, there will be a single pension of £144 pw. State Second Pension (SERPS) will be eliminated.Originally posted by d000hg View PostWhat is this FRP?
Bad news for people who saved into the state second pension - they won't get it, so their savings bought them nothing over those who didn't save.Job motivation: how the powerful steal from the stupid.Comment

I've switched it off; I couldn't bear listening to him. He really has nothing of any substance to add.Originally posted by GB9 View PostListening to Ed Slimeyband, the Coalition must feel pretty confident of being re-elected. Don't think he has said a single thing of use yet.
I liked the bit with Osbourne saying "I'm aware the opposition has had problems with the 10% income tax rate... well we've solved it for you. It's now a 0% income tax rate".
(They're going to achieve the 10K allowance a year earlier than planned).
The only bad thing in what I saw of it were the plans to prop up the housing bubble with help for deposits. Other than that, it all seemed quite positive. Will work inside IR35. Or for food.Comment

Although I dislike Milliband, he destroyed the budget, the chancellor, PM Cabinet and Government with that response. Tories are dead.Comment

Did you watch it? He didn't actually tackle any of it, he just slagged off the chancellor. He hasn't got a clue.Comment
