1313: The flat-rate pension will be brought forward to 2016, the chancellor says.
    What is this FRP?

Ah yes, point 2 in this post.

Now wait for the tax rises.

Yep, ´All other alcohol duties to rise by 2% above inflation`
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

Listening to Ed Slimeyband, the Coalition must feel pretty confident of being re-elected. Don't think he has said a single thing of use yet.

"Single Tier Pension". Instead of Basic State Pension of (I think) £107 pw + Pension Credit if needed, to bring income up to £150 or so, there will be a single pension of £144 pw. State Second Pension (SERPS) will be eliminated.

Bad news for people who saved into the state second pension - they won't get it, so their savings bought them nothing over those who didn't save.

I've switched it off; I couldn't bear listening to him. He really has nothing of any substance to add.

I liked the bit with Osbourne saying "I'm aware the opposition has had problems with the 10% income tax rate... well we've solved it for you. It's now a 0% income tax rate". (They're going to achieve the 10K allowance a year earlier than planned).

The only bad thing in what I saw of it were the plans to prop up the housing bubble with help for deposits. Other than that, it all seemed quite positive.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

So what about people who opted out of SERPS?

Although I dislike Milliband, he destroyed the budget, the chancellor, PM Cabinet and Government with that response. Tories are dead.

Did you watch it? He didn't actually tackle any of it, he just slagged off the chancellor. He hasn't got a clue.

So beer swilling BTL landlords are all the way to the bankrupt bank.

Buying votes by printing more money adding more public backed debt to prop up house prices at any cost.
