Instead they will have to take a job away from somebody who actually does want to work.Job motivation: how the powerful steal from the stupid. -
There is stuff they can do - they can pick up rubbish, paint railings etc. It might not be fun, it might not be required but it will get them working from 9 - 5.30 every weekday!Originally posted by Ignis Fatuus View PostInstead they will have to take a job away from somebody who actually does want to work.Comment

I should imagine there are plenty of honest JSA claimants. However if you have been out of work > 12 months you need help. Putting them on workfair is a good way to do that, it also exposes fraud which I am confident is much higher than reported.
Plenty of work to do, we send a good portion of our electronic waste to India to be burnt they could dismantle it.
many jobs such as rubbish picking, cleaning roads/parks/playgrounds. None of which displace current workers.Comment

My predictions for the UK budget;
1 The government will spend more money than it raises in tax
2 The government will find sneaky ways of raising taxes while giving a couple of populist fops to voters like not raising booze duties
3 Public spending will continue to rise well beyond what the taxpayer can afford.
Please copy these predictions and save them in a file on your computer for future use; by my reckoning you will be able to use this prediction file once a year for the rest of your life, regardless of the political party in power.And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument?
