At that moment I would take a very, very long lunch break or attend an emergency out of office meeting.

Used to work with a couple of them who were meant to be the second line support for my app, they would just ignore raised issues and not inform anyone, clearly they did not want to be the bearer of bad news. When the problem got to you it was by management with a "why is this not being looked at".

When you asked the 2 of them why they never communicated the issue they would just put on stupid grins and say "I'm sorry I don't understand, can you repeat"

WHS. If everyone was efficient and competent there would be no market for contractors.
        Hard Brexit now!

So the point here is that my learned Indian colleague was saying as two sides of the time cost quality triangle were fixed, the quality had to slip and that was fine my him as it was part of his project brief as it was what ClientCo had asked for...
At one very large company that heavily outsourced, I developed a way of working that cost the outsourcing company a little more, but overall reduced costs, increased quality and reduced development time. It was rejected by the management as it meant that the business analysts could be also be outsourced... and they didn't want that. They only wanted techy stuff outsourced.
Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!

Don't know what's it like like now, but judging from the high level shaming of German politicians who plagiarised their PhDs, I'm guessing lots of German degrees are as worthless as the ones we created here from from the 90s onwards.
The most recent one was the German education minister who has been replaced by Johanna Wanka
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

The Germans haven't been that good at maths since they removed the Jews.*

*obligatory for this thread, grossly racist statement.
I actually charge a good rate but we've just got someone new (a German) in the team and everyone knows what he's getting as the agency sent me the specs first, went to their website and it had the hourly rate and its about 30% more than you would get for such a position in the UK...

Although they advertise for Brits, they don't actually get what they want primarily because its so expensive for them to get here and then live on the rate they're offered without doing dodgy tax deals (see the professional forums ad nauseum for idiots who try) that they employ East Europeans, who also tend to be able to speak German, for much less and are actually much better...

TO be honest if you are good and have not had any issues with getting work then the Bob invasion has probably been a good thing, clients are still willing to pay out decent sums to get in high value people with good technical skills and nobody is getting trained to replace us. The workforce is diminishing and ageing.

For the country that is a disaster, contractors are probably the most likely to grow out an idea into a workable business. I just don't know why the politicians cannot see that.
