My fookin US contractor has decided not to turn up to site on Tuesday stating that he picked up another role in the two weeks it took to 'drugs test and background check' him for this role, having a dig stating that it was a joke he had to take a drugs test.

In other news, one of my permies has gone AWOL for two days after a bad review! WTF is wrong with people!!!

Not only contractors! I was bringing a consultant in from a large BI company to do a POC for me. We scoped it for 40 hours at $250 per hour and he needed access to our network so he could access out test server. When I requested the PO, HR got involved stating they would not grant access until he had been drug tested and back ground checked. Assuming they were wrong, i got on the phone. Company policy is, anyone given access to the network must be drug tested. Needless to say this had delayed this process and I looked a right twunt at the next meeting telling this consultancy that their services person was expected to piss in a glass before being allows to remotely VPN into my test server!!!! Fookin joke!!!!
