Did anyone else watch the C4 documentary about the discovery and investigation around Richard III last night?

If so did you find Philippa Langley cringe worthy especially when she turned on the tears? & that all the academics were like a parody of some Ealing comedy and proof that our Universities are home to people who couldn't get a job in the real world

Shame as it could have been much more interesting
How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think

That's probably why they've decided to look for the bones of someone a bit greater next. Less upsetting.

          Except for the cakes.

Philippa Langley was weird. As somebody commented, "She's going to take the skull home, and put it on the sofa next to her and have conversations with it, isn't she?"

Not sure what your problem with the academics was. I know a few people in the Leicester Uni Archaeology Department, having been at Uni with them or drunk with them in various pubs over the years, and they've always seemed very down-to-earth to me.

Surely they should all look like Harrison Ford and carry a bull whip

Probably not - the ones I know are the early to mid 80s brigade. When I was still comparatively young

I know several of them who've been content to roost in their offices for the last few years emerged and got muddy again for the Richard III dig.
