His traditional portraits have a sunken-cheeked wary-eyed cunning weasel appearance, which is nothing like the reconstructed face.
Makes one wonder if it wouldn't be a good idea to dig up a few more medievil monarchs, to do that skull reconstruction thing and update the history books with more realistic portraits. I'm sure they wouldn't mind, as it would be in a good cause.
That's assuming the skulls are still available - Unfortunately several earlier monarchs, including William the Conqueror, buried in France were disinterred by French peasants during their various revolutions over the centuries, and the skulls used to play football with and then lost!
Apparently the only surviving part of Will Conk is one thigh bone. But, who knows, one day the DNA from just that (if a complete set survives) may be enough to reconstruct his skull shape.
