Yes and no. Generic assumption to cause response but I will defend the fact that many 2nd, 3rd and more generations of benefits scroungers have a whole different world going on that we cannot understand. Get embedded in to some scumbag estate and you will find everyone is on the take somehow and you can get anything you want cheap as long as you don't mind it not having a power lead.

Yes there are some people genuinely using benefits that have to and are decent people but for everyone of them there is horde behind them that are not. My mates married in to it and it shocks me the stories he comes out with.

The government isn't going to do anything that stops money going to one of Rupert Murdoch's businesses. They need him more than he needs them.

A tough problem. I was thinking more along the lines of a pre-charged card rather than an actual bank-account, more like vouchers really. But even that is difficult because we do not live in a cashless society.
Cash is going, creating a debit card with no or only nominal transaction charges (say 10p charge) will encourage its demise but doing this will encourage the outliers as there will be an area of society using it.

Its not complicated its just different. Why would you have the ability to transfer to another bank account makes no sense considering the application.

I went to the local corner shop the other day, got there and realised the wife had helped herself to the notes, I had £3 and wanted to spend £5.

So I asked can I use my debit card? they said minimum spend £10 & 70p fee.

This is a seriously carp idea. I'm not a bleeding heart liberal in any way, but why are we so hell bent on punishing and stripping the dignity of people who are out of work.

There are *some* benefit scroungers. There are *more* people who are out of work and desperately trying to find something. For many people out of work at the moment (some for whom this will be the first time that they can't work) the stress is huge. In their eyes, they have lost a large part of their self worth as they are unable to provide for their families; now let's just give them a bit more a of kicking by saying that they are not only a feckless cost on society but also not trustworthy enough to spend money. All because the daily wail wants to sell more copy and knows that there are few things better to raise the ire of the rabble than a good benefit scroungers story.

That simply won't work and cost a lot of money trying to blacklist codes.

Cut the benefits to get them into work - that's how it should be done.

Debit card transaction costs too high for small value transactions, same as credit cards but those are high for high value transactions.

and also make sure that they can only buy the 'budget' range from the supermarket

oh and also that the card only works 9-5 so that when i shop in the evening after working hard all day I am not falling over the sweatly lazy scumbags

oh yeah and sterlise them too that stop the feckers breeding and in a generation the problem will go away.

and when they start banging on about human rights just point out the humans do not live in their own sh!t and shag their blood relaations and see other peoples property as an opportunity so maybe they can have scumbag rights which equate to fe<k all

                      or something
