One of the 24 hour supermarkets I go to cuts the cost of their going out of date bread and meat at around 9pm.

Between 9-10pm lots of people from the estate opposite (they have to cross the dual carriageway) go shopping. They actually have no nearby street market - they just have about 5 crappy shops in the estate.

Likewise in fruit and veg markets the produce that is spoiling is sold cheapest at the end of the day.

Banning unemployed people from going shopping outside 9-5 is simply stupid.

Most people on here are weeks away from being out of work and have been through their whole 'career' as a contractors.

You are on the wrong place if you plead for the out of work, this 'community' has worked hard for qualifications to enter into this line of work and refuse to take on 'workers rights' despite what the HRMC tell us.

I havn't read all the posts, so sorry if I'm duping.

It seems to me that this type of idea is designed to crack down on the doleites who are taking the p!ss. The ones who have made the dole a lifestyle choice or the ones who are on the fiddle.

It wont stop the ones on the fiddle and the lifestyle dolies are actually few in number. Nice idea but its pointless because it wont work for practical reasons. A dolie who is barred from buying booze and fags probably brews and grows his own anyway

We have a different mindset from permie people that's why we are contractors.

Social worker gets to see the sh*t of life everyday and is well aware like other posters on here who have empathy, including one who wrote a long thread about not being able to get a contract or return to the darkside, that not everyone who is in the sh*t deserves it.

You were on the dole for? 10 years, or was it 8?

That fact and the very low number of false disability benefit claims upsets the right wing press.

The only way to reduce the benefits bill is to target wealthier pensioners as pensioners as a group take the largest proportion of money out of the welfare state.

So most of you are buying into the demonising of the unemployed just when there are fewer jobs and folks who have worked and payed tax all of their lives find themselves in a situation not of their making?

Bunch of c****. Wear somebody elses shoes sometime and come back and post here.

most of the blokes were desperate for work, or had a long term plan (like me)
most of the birds had made a lifestyle choice.

                    a free flat for a bird with a kid....brilliant.

the fellas used to hunt them..free accommodation .... brilliant

and so you get a bird, 25 years old, 4 feral kids to four different dads.

THATS the real problem. and these cards will not solve it
