there are a few who will lie on their beds and take the money, but not that many. There are probably ten times as many who work in the black eceonomy, and claim the dolio as well as cash in hand.

But they tend to get blown up from time to time, and its not a pleasant life. The cards will have no effect on these dudes

But the system doesn't help itself. One-size-fits-all rules just don't work.

        2. Real scallies would find a way round it

        3. The best bargains for fruit and veg, meat etc are to be found in street markets which are strictly cash. Would you rather families are tied to buying cheap burgers from supermarkets rather than trying to make nutritious meal from scratch? It would kill local markets in poor areas.
        1. My neighbour 2 doors down has lost his job 2 times in the last 3 years, was in the wrong place at the wrong time, over 50 and not highly qualified. He isn't embarrassed, he is determined and got another job. Most people realise that losing your job after 10 - 20 years is not your fault.

        2. that is slightly better than everyone finding a way round it which is the current situation.

        3. Then if their customers only have cards that charge a minimal fee, less than 7% (cash handling fee in many banks). they will adapt.

Minestrone, most of us including us permies probably have cash reserves in the tens of thousands or equity / holdings of much more, we can survive a few years without being forced to Poundland.

Also explain why the taxpayer should be funding "pensioners" to go to work using their freedom passes?

BTW the government has already started to get rid of the larger tax allowances for those over 65 in the coming tax year.

Bunch of c****. Wear somebody elses shoes sometime and come back and post here.
OK, I am a contractor now but in my life I have worked as/in.

Butcher, labourer, service stations, boats, bar work, club work, hot dogs in concert venues, burgers for tinkers at the fairs, KFC.

Done my time not signing on.

            Nothing to feel sorry.

Well you seem to want to take this conversation to pensioners and bus passes.

We are on the unemployed here love, try to get with the general thrust of the thread.

I used to lie awake, wondering what use these dolies were . Weere they any use to themselves, their families, society ? humanity?

then I had this weird thought.

If the planet was to be hit by an asteroid, or if we were struck by a super volcano or a pandemic. These guys would be the survivors. They know how to fight like fck and scrabble and live off a crust

whereas you would be an ex-minestrone pretty quick

I think they probably have an evolutionary benefit.

now, isnt that a horrible thought?

Lots of people have done cr*p jobs including those who have worked decades straight as permies.

What if your company did a 2e2 on you? This behaviour isn't rare any more and the administrators encourage the staff to claim the dole. Or haven't you been watching/reading the news.
