Oh dear Hawk - for all your supporting of the gay community and their right to marraige in church, you have used a supposed racist term. -
Well, as it is allegedly a supposed racist term I wasn't aware of, I will sleep tonight.Originally posted by BA to the Stars View PostOh dear Hawk - for all your supporting of the gay community and their right to marraige in church, you have used a supposed racist term.Comment

I think that was a Stonewall poster advertising campaign a few years ago. Anecdotally (can't find a link) some wag had written on one of the posters:Originally posted by Jog On View PostSome people are gay - get over it
"Most people don't care - get over it"
Which was quite apt.If you think my attitude stinks, you should smell my fingers.Comment

The argument goes that homosexuality affects the morality of the whole of society.Originally posted by hyperD View PostI think that was a Stonewall poster advertising campaign a few years ago. Anecdotally (can't find a link) some wag had written on one of the posters:

*sigh* this is such a stupid 'argument' that I am not even sure where to startOriginally posted by NorthWestPerm2Contr View PostThe argument goes that homosexuality affects the morality of the whole of society.Comment

And do you believe that argument is correct? I'm assuming 'the argument' is that it affects morality in a negative way? As opposed to encouraging tolerance and understanding.Originally posted by NorthWestPerm2Contr View PostThe argument goes that homosexuality affects the morality of the whole of society.Comment

When people talk tulip like that I have to wonder whether somebody's pushing it back up their intestine and out of their mouths from behind.Originally posted by NorthWestPerm2Contr View PostThe argument goes that homosexuality affects the morality of the whole of society. And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? It is viewed as something unnatural and against the purpose we have been created and exist for. Similar to incest and other kinds of sexual deviation. I am not saying I necessarily agree with those views but I can definitely understand that point, it's a simple equation:Originally posted by mudskipper View PostAnd do you believe that argument is correct? I believe in God > God created us for a purpose > We stick to the natural way of doing things > Male created for Female etc.Comment

But the rules against homosexuals (although it only forbids homosexual sex, I do not recollect it prohibiting homosexual marriage) are in the same books as many other laws the church ignores and it's followings think are absurd e.g. killing disobedient children.Originally posted by NorthWestPerm2Contr View PostIt is viewed as something unnatural and against the purpose we have been created and exist for. Why is this different - why object to homosexual marriage if the bible does not and the only objection which is on the same subject is amongst ones that are already ignored?
I do not get the rationale of the theistic mind, I am quite baffled by it.Comment

You don't think it's a tiny bit arrogant to tell a religion you know what their holy book means better than they do?Originally posted by Jog On View PostIMO anyone who sees the bible/koran/other religious books as the answer to what's right and what's wrong and what is and what isn't has missed the point of said religions existing in the first place.
I saw a poster on the side of a bus the other day that makes a very good point - it said:
Some people are gay. Get over it.I like that. But Stonewall aren't really known for their live and let live approach, if nobody cared they'd not have jobs any more!Originally posted by hyperD View PostI think that was a Stonewall poster advertising campaign a few years ago. Don't be confused. Hawk doesn't give a damn about gay people and their rights, it's just an opportunity to cause trouble on their behalf. I'm sure any gay people on CUK wish he'd shut up as much as the rest of usOriginally posted by BA to the Stars View PostOh dear Hawk - for all your supporting of the gay community and their right to marraige in church, you have used a supposed racist term.
That seems a pretty apathetic and rather depressing way to live. Put yourself in your little box, don't give a damn about anything or anyone else. We should accept school shootings, paedophiles and so on to avoid "being unhappy"? Isn't it a good thing if things make you unhappy so that you want to do something about it?If you can't accept the way the world is then you're just going make yourslef very unhappy resisting what is - and probably make other people unhappy while you're at it.
[note I am not saying we should be 'doing something about gay people', just tying onto that thread of thought]Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment
