All religions tend to have similar views on homosexuals...... with only the extreme reformists taking a different view....

Well Leviticus explicitly requires the death penalty for any man who has sex with another man regardless of any mitigating circumstances. Jesus also specifies in the NT that he has not come to change the old law but to fulfill prophecies.

However, the bible is the big book of multiple choice. Pick whichever quotes suit your outlook and claim that they are the reason you have the outlook.

Also you will find the definition of modern marriage stems from religions i.e. Christianity, Judaism, Islam - all of whom oppose homosexuality. Not so long ago homosexuality was viewed as an illness and a crime......

Yep, I understand religious objections. But the vast majority of people are not, or are only nominally, religious.

Marriage is what you make it - a gay couple getting married does not affect the relationship between you and your partner.

So we can ignore the ten commandments, titheing (sp?) etc?

And of course we have to ignore Jesus's explicit statement about how he has not come to change the old laws.

He came to fulfill the prophecies. And to create new law.
