There is an exemption from the equality laws for these cases.
Well of course you can ask for a female or male doctor, that's just common courtesy and isn't enshrined in law; they can say no. I have seen people ask for white doctors too, and these are refused. That's something based on courtesy, not enshrined in law.

With the carers, if I remember correctly, these are also individual cases, which need to be agreed before advertising; they cannot just do one off the cuff, they have to justify it.

As for films, I have seen a film with a black Jesus, I am seen many plays in which history is thrown out of the window; I believe it is up to the director/producer/casting director to choose how they are protrayed. You don't see adverts saying 'Lead Actor required for play about Martin Luther King: Black people only'. I haven't and I am sure none here have seen it either.

The CoE has a blanket exemption against current human rights law, not to perform marriage between same sex partners. It's a sham and is disgusting. Just when you think religion couldn't sink no further into a cess pool, it does.

It works the other way too. Most wards have at least one male nurse so they can do all the catheter removal from men.

I really don't understand the reason it was made illegal for CoE, can anyone enlighten me?

I think discrimination on sexuality should be covered in the same way as racism. It's the 21st century, people should be able to marry who they want regardless of sex. I have noticed on this forum that homosexual abuse is tolerated, but racist abuse warrants an instant ban.

This is more for personal preference, some people are more comfortable discussing medical problems with someone of the same sex. I don't think many people would use this to discriminate against what they perceive as an inferior sex

errr - its the female nurses that insist on a male nurse so they don't have to touch a willy.

Is it really? I never knew this. Is it out of preference though, or to prevent "excitiment"?

I discovered it when my ex had a kidney transplant. Alot of catheters in there. A female nurse told my ex-wife.

I presume its preference. But I have no idea. Maybe we need MTT to do some research?

A religious marriage ceremony is someone's 'human right'?

                    I'm shocked too, that such a poor-quality troll hasn't been insta-banned.

I was shot once, and the bullet lodged in my upper leg. Before the operation, I had to be shaved. This, much against her will, but ignored, was performed by a young female nurse, who seemed as reluctant to do as I was to let her do it, and of course, within 3 or 4 seconds I had a hard on a Cat couldn't scratch. I still go red in the face thinking about it.
