FTFY
P.S. Attacking a respected member? Enjoy your time off!I don't see how you can defend this thread is attacking him, but I'd take issue with the term "respected".Originally posted by suityou01 View PostHow is this attacking him? And believe me, MF has started many a thread like this about me.
It's only been that way for the last year (at least). People have been banned for threads attacking you, you fool.Originally posted by suityou01 View PostSeriously, this place has changed.
A ******* sticky thread with rogues gallery at the top of the forum? Calling for a ban for taking the piss out of another forum member?
As one who has been on the receiving end of pisstaking on here (possibly one of the most teased on here!) I find this ******* weird.
Have you all gone soft?

Well there you go. Having come over to the US at great time and expense with the view to save a failing project and to great fanfare. Ta da da!!!
Arrived with a flourish. Immediately hired two contractors. Got developers assigned. PM in place. Took full control myself of reverse engineering the 'agile' developed product from feedback from users but with no actual requirements, I have successfully managed to pull the project from the flames, have a bloody good look, capture the real business requirements and then discover that it's a piece of
unrecoverable tulip that doesn't actually meet the business requirements that they should have documented in the first place!!!!
I've pushed it back in the bloody fire. Fooling agile!!!! Grrrr. What happens in General, stays in General. You know what they say about assumptions!Comment

Agile differs from other methodologies in one important way; given a team full of incompetent halfwits you can comprehensively screw everything up much more quickly and disastrously than with waterfail.Originally posted by MarillionFan View PostWell there you go. The secret of making any methodology work is to hire competent people. HR departments and purchasing departments are even worse at doing that than Project Managers. And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014Comment

A previous set of Sales engineers would perform prototyping for clients and hand the consultants the resultant code. They used to consider this Agile. For me, agile programming is simply prototyping, in essence. But, as you have said, with competant people, this shouldn't be an issue.Originally posted by Mich the Tester View PostAgile differs from other methodologies in one important way; given a team full of incompetent halfwits you can comprehensively screw everything up much more quickly and disastrously than with waterfail.

But the advantage agile is that you should discover the mistake quickly.Originally posted by Mich the Tester View PostAgile differs from other methodologies in one important way; given a team full of incompetent halfwits you can comprehensively screw everything up much more quickly and disastrously than with waterfail.
And that it will be so obvious to any half competent new recruit what happened, why it happened and to put in place escape procedures asap.merely at clientco for the entertainmentComment
