        Fourth time for me.

1st failed for going to fast. At the roundabout before the test centre I misjudged the speed of a car approaching the roundabout from the right and accelerated to get their first. The examiner hit the brakes and I landed up on top of a raised roundabout. Fail.

2nd. Failed for being to careful! FFS

3rd. Got followed around by a group of mates in a Ford Escort who knew it was my test, overtaking and beeping the horn. Very ******* funny. Had the same examiner as the first two. A humorless 6 foot 6 inches miserable tosser who grimaced every time he saw my examiners Ford Focus. After a comment from him asking if I knew about the twats shouting
'MF u ******' he failed me after a perfect drive. I lost the plot and told him to fook off, backed up by my examiner who also called him a twat.

I the waited another 4 years before taking it again this time in London at 21 and passing easily. Never had an accident, near miss or even a scratch in 20 years.

Failed the first time and I am still bitter about it.

I failed for not bringing the car to a complete stop at a stop sign.

The junction was onto a street that was one-way from the right. The road to the right was closed for roadworks and I knew it was closed.

So I slowed right down, checked that it was still closed and nothing was approaching, then carried on.

          Fail.

          Grrrrrrrrr

I am driving in a different country now so the signs are slightly different but my Mrs, who is the worst back-seat driver you could imagine, says that I am still the same. I completely ignore whether the sign says stop or give-way and make my own decision.

Car second time as I nearly wiped out an old lady driver exiting from a junction the first time.

Bike first time - but 20 years after the crash that nearly wiped me out on my Suzuki GP100.

First time after 6 lessons, but I had been driving on various farms since I was 12.

And my Dad used to regularly take me out in the car around various fields.

Second time in Lancashire - too scared to hit 5th gear on motorway - instant fail
Third time in Lancashire - indicator on car failed - didnt leave the car park
Forth time passed - week later driving a chrysler x4 in North Carolina, 6 weeks training with work - that is when I really learned to drive!

First time - despite accidentally hitting windscreen wipers on hottest day of the year.

I feel old. Parallel parking wasn't on the test when I took it.

Though it was a few years later when my wife took her test. Which is probably why she's much better at parallel parking than I am...

Reversing around a corner was fairly tricky, and I passed my test teh day some clown put a box junction in Chippenham, so I just drove over it, not knowing what it was. Luckily, it was clear and they didn't ask me what it was, for I had no idea at the time. 3 weeks after my 17th borthday, but I'd been driving for about a year
