So like I said, OH just looked up brakes on the internet so he could chip in. You're even less believable than Sasguru.

Since Darwinism and religion are only vaguely related, the irony is light. More lithiummy than anything else. Possibly it was just stupidity rather than irony. Which is ironic.

We had a discussion on this recently but I can't find it... in a normal FWD car are both braking and drive through the front axle, meaning that you can get away with 2 winter tyres only?

Given that logic we should have chains on all four wheels. Yet for both my FWD and AWD car, the manufacturers recommend just the front wheels.

So long as you stick to below 30mph, you'll be fine with two winter tyres.

Very bad advice. Are you turning into a cretin?

No, but I'm beginning suspect you are. Is the logic too hard?

          For a FWD car:

          1. Chains are worn on the front wheels.
          2. Speed must be kept below 50 km/h for safety, due to the lack of grip.

From 1 and 2, a perfectly logical conclusion is that winter tyres only on the front are not unsafe, so long as the speed is kept below 50 km/h.

You feck wit, you have no idea do you. Even if I did, even if I did look up brakes, it still places me feckin head and shoulder above you, for you're stupid enough to believe driving on snow with just winter tyres on the front will not kill you. Your god will not be able to protect you once that back end loosens under braking and puts you under the artic coming the other way.

Oh d000hg, just when I think you couldn't be more stupid, you post something proving me wrong.

You'd also note here, that the chains would be attached ot winter tyres, front and back

I suspect the Fiat Seicento I've got at the moment is the same.

None of the above has ABS.
If it was the Croma which was the same as the Saab 9000 and the Lancia, then I would disagree here. The others, well, they're old cars that would kill you anyway. How old is the seicento

It's only logical if you believe the usage (and physics) of using chains and winter tyres is the same. Chains are used to get you going and have to be taken off on a tracked road, anyway. They would not be used for any length of time.
Winter tyres are on permanently. If you go down a snowy hill at 10 mph and brake there will be a big difference in what happens if you have 2 vs 4 winter tyres.
It would be wise if you withdrew your advice which is based on poor suppositions and ignorance, in case it is followed by the simple minded like Dooghie.

Do regale us with your expertise on driving in bad conditions sas, gleaned from living in the south-east of England. The fact you saw snow one year doesn't really count though.

I lived in Switzerland for a year. I used to be a keen skier and in the past have driven to the slopes.
                      HTH you complete prize twat.
Oh and go ahead and put 2 winter tyres on your car - it's a win-win, you may get to see your creator sooner and we will be spared your verbiage next year
