How many people feel the same way? and of course factor in those who are working that have kids and get no financial assistance from the government yet they're taxes subsidise the lazy family across the street that have lots of kids and have never worked a day in their lives.
Similarly, I send my kids to a fee paying school therefore saving the govt paying for 2 places in a state school. Why don't I get my fees subsidised?

You could. The money would then be found by raising tax on higher rate tax payers I guess.

Well it seems they're doing that anyway, they make their own choices whether they're well thought out or not isn't any of my concern. All I know is the blatant abuse of the system has to stop somewhere, we have people who have worked all their lives and are now retired dying in winter because they cannot afford to put on the heating. Yet money distributed as benefits is being squandered on iPhones, car, Xboxes, cigarettes and alcohol.

I believe you should or you should have to pay less in tax

If we continue that to its logical conclusion, then people with children should pay more in tax to pay for their education, NHS etc You may argue that everyone benefits from children being educated, but equally everyone benefits from roads and yet only people who own vehicles pay road tax.

nope because most of those are looking at avoidance systems.

It would come from average earners who can't afford to pay for themselves.

Most of us are sufficiently well off we can consider a minor tax increase as an annoyance, but the 80% where the majority of tax is now collected are already being hit by the top 1% avoiding more tax and the top 10% following suit this will only get worse.

You do assuming the school is eligible the child's allowance is paid to the school and they have charity status.

What the country needs is to reduce the feeling of entitlement.

This is what makes it impossible to fix our economic problems and anyone who trys will be punished at the ballet box, so none of them will ever dare and this is why we have pretend austerity now. This is why the country will ultimately go bust as they are unable to stop spending money they dont have.

I was reading a football forum the other day where a thread on jobs was going on and there was a general agreement that taxation should be raised so the government can create jobs.

I'm of the opinion that a great deal of people have absolutely no idea of what a government is there to do, worse than that they have such limited intelligence that they have a completely warped opinion of what a government should do and that there is such a large number of these people that they inflict their stupidity on me with the democratic system.

Some people should not be allowed to vote. Claim benefits, banned, no qualifications, banned, criminal, banned, thinking that I should have to pay to keep someone in a job, banned.

I think the majority understand the need tor Austerity, but most want someone else to pay.

                      Interesting survey yesterday
80% wanted more taxes & cuts.
25% thought these should affect them personally.

from memory but those were the rough percentages.
