I was thinking you need 11 trolls, and 10 of them die, but that's without googling and before I read the rest of the thread.

Pondy has anyone got the right answer here I didn't see you confirm it?

According to the original method then yes the correct answer has bee given. EO has a way of doing it with two fewer which looks like it works as long as time is not a constraint.

The fastest way is to give all the bottles their position number in Binary and assign each tester a position. If their position is a 1 on the bottle, they drink. Which ever combo snuffs it gives you your bottle number.

Nope because the poison doesn't act immediately. So your first tester may be through 100 bottles before they keel over.

I conceed that next time I will have to be clearer about this fact. i.e the poison takes 6hrs or so to act.
