Nothing wrong with the size of my cajones, they are plenty big. I can certainly stand up for myself, in my terms this is aka, I can afford to jack this gig in.

The problem is what I can do if I am not invited to a meeting in the first place, especially one where I know they are discussing me!

As you can imagine a lot of personal sh**e is probably thrown at us in these closed meetings but as we are excluded we have no opportunity to defend ourselves.

In the meantime the permies are walking around like the cat that got the cream. It is really starting to get to me now!

Project discussions should be open and transparent.
Go perm then, it sounds like you cannot deal with being a contractor. You work differently, paid differently and treated differently. Hell, legislation demands it is like that for us. This sounds like you want to be a disguised employee when the opportunity to be IR35 is staring you in the face. Seriously, if you can't hack it just get out. Contractors are generally hated by permies because of what we earn and the freedom we have. We are also tarred by contractors that jack it in early or piss the client around so we hardly have the best reputation to start off with. It is just part of the differences. There are guys at my gig won't come to the pub because we are contractors and they are not, it's just bitter jealousy. Ask around to see if they had contractors screw them over at some point as well, am sure you will find a story there somewhere, contractor comes in, f's up buggers off and they are left holding the can.

It's part of what we do. We get great gigs, happy days. We get brought in to shoulder the problems of a failing project, not so happy days. It is all part of the roundabout of contracting. If you want a nice happy life go permie IMO. Getting upset as a contractor just because you are being cold sholdered by the client is a bit poor. There is a line that can be crossed I do agree, but just some cold shouldering by permies is nowhere near that line yet.

Just deal with it and keep invoicing IMO.

            Grow up?

They are probably discussing how immature you are.

Seriously as a contractor you are there for a limited amount of time.

Do your work, try and get the client staff to see that your way is the best, if they disagree don't let it bother you and continue invoicing.

Only those that have not sold their soul to the devil - about 1%. And they are all trainees.

                  To which the answer is:

                  "Here's my invoice. Ker-ching!"
And the lord said unto John; "come forth and receive eternal life." But John came fifth and won a toaster.

At which point you advise the contractor you have been pocketing 25% commission on his gig and thank him for the new Jag.
