Why do you let people wind you up like that?"You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JR -
Your right I should not let them get to me - thanks.Originally posted by SueEllen View PostWhy do you let people wind you up like that?
Been doing this for about ten years and hated most of them. Problem is, coming from a
poor background, the money to some one like me is the equivalent of being a premiership footballer!Comment

you have the uncanny knack of being able to tell , from their faces, that they have stitched you up
do you think that , just maybe, they can tell that you hate them from the look on yours ?
sorry to hear that you were poor, that must have been really, really tough on you. good to see you sailed through it with a good attitude though

The way you are describing things sounds exactly like it should be tbh.
I was bullied far more as a permie, one of the main reasons I am now a contractor. Any sign of being forced to sign documents that contain lies or they will fire me on the spot etc and I can simply thank them for the thousands of pounds a week over the passed few months and walk out.Comment

Every time they give you that smug look look at that item and think that it would take them at least twice as long to earn it, and smile pleasantly back."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

How much would you have to be paid to accept scapegoating as a part of the package? What would be the fair deal? In my experience, the tuliptier the job, the less you get paid....and if your job description specifies "the scapegoat" .... I can imagine few things worse than that.Originally posted by northernladuk View PostI thought same question as soon as I read the OP's thread. Sometimes contractors are brought in to be the scapegoat and permies will quite openly blame the contractor first. Do you see that as bullying or just part and parcel for the job?If UKIP are the answer, then it must have been a very stupid question.Comment

Private meetings with only permies = AppraisalsOriginally posted by insur View PostFollowing these private meetings, when the contractors bump into senior management we get the cold shoulder.
As you can imagine a lot of personal sh**e is probably thrown at us in these closed meetings but as we are excluded we have no opportunity to defend ourselves.
In the meantime the permies are walking around like the cat that got the cream. It is really starting to get to me now!
Project discussions should be open and transparent.
They are acting like the cat that got the cream due to all the "praise" that's been heaped upon them in lieu of a pay rise.Coffee's for closersComment

I don't know what you're worried about. It's quite obvious that they're talking about you in derogatory manner, probably have a nickname for you 'Mr Pissy Stain Pants' or 'Gay cottaging Jeff', as long as you're invoicing why do you need to worry about what they think about your hygiene issues & sexual proclivity.Originally posted by insur View PostYour right I should not let them get to me - thanks.
